Stork Alert!

The stork has left China! Referrals left China at the end of the day Thursday (China time) and should start arriving at agencies on Monday. Hopefully we will have a picture by Monday or Tuesday. I'll post it as soon as I can!

New referral news

The latest rumors are saying early next week! There are several rumors flying around, and they are all consistent. Unfortunately, the other rumors are saying this batch will only include families with LID's through 3/17/05. I can't imagine how let down those families after the 17th are feeling right now.

So, maybe we'll get to travel by the end of November??? We'll see.

Today, all I can think of are lists. What do we take? What do we need to do to the house before she comes home? How can I get in shape...fast? What luggage do we take? Carry on or checked? Too much to do, and too little time. Like I haven't had nine months to figure all this out.

I can't wait to see the pictures. Only one week left!

The wait begins

OK, so the wait really began last December.

It's already Tuesday morning in China. Matching began for our group last Friday, or so the rumors say. It's so hard not to get caught up in all the rumors when you are waiting. Rumors from the Yahoo adoption boards that is. Most of the agencies cringe when they know their clients are reading and posting on these boards. Some of the rumors do really get out of hand. There's a man by the name of Fernando in Spain, however, who has become a bit of an icon on the February and March DTC boards. For the past several months, his rumor's have been 100% accurate. So, these are the ones I choose to believe.

Based on this, it seems that we will get our referrals for 'Lucy' next Monday or Tuesday. One more week.

I say 'Lucy' because we haven't actually decided on a name yet. However, big sister Hannah has decided this is her name. So, for all intents and purposes, it is Lucy. Afterall, who can change the mind of a 3-year-old?
We started our paperwork on December 16, 2004. We are hoping to be home with Lucy before the one year anniversary of that date. We actually finished the 'paperchase' in 2 months, 1 day, and were DTC (Dossier to China) on February 17, 2005. We entered the system at CCAA (China Center for Adoption Affairs) on March 8, 2005 (Log In Date), which is actually when the wait began. But here we are, 9 months from when we started. Ironic, isn't it...9 months? The wait this week will be the longest so far. Thankfully, Hannah keeps me very busy.

We're waiting for you Lucy! Soon we will be four.
